Feelin' good

Today I feel really good! It was a great day from start to finish,
thanks in no small part to the massive planning/bagging session I had
last night. There was breakfast, there were fruits, there were
veggies, there was tofu! There was even a whole wheat english muffin.
There was going to be edamame, but that didn't work out so hot,
despite the package's glowing recommendations.

I ate throughout the day, breakfast to dinner with snacks between (and I'm about to have my evening treat - a popsicle). I could stand to drink some more water, but overall did very well. My target was 1400 calories, I think I hit below that since Mayo clinic and I have
different food stocks.

In the movement department, I started my week 1 day 1 (or should I say restarted) Total Sprint (couch to sprint) program, with a 20 minute
walk, 100m in the pool (easy strokes, lots of rest - drowning is bad),
and spent the time in between in an hour of mild water aerobics. I
feel like that hour could have been spent doing something more
strenuous, but it's a start!

I got on the scale today, since it's 2 weeks since I first signed up
on traineo (which I don't like as much as I thought I did). 279.
-3. I'll take it! I'm going to try not to get on again until next
Monday - hoping for a big number!

Slow Start

Well, my kickoff has been more of a slow climb rather than a rocket
takeoff. I think I've decided that being aware of what I eat and
keeping track is going to be the first step. Then getting moving.
Then... you know, eating better. Didn't Heisenberg postulate that the
act of observing changes the observed? I'm going to work from that
theory and try to be conscious of what I eat.

Yesterday Lizzie and I went to the Y and walked for 25 minutes, plus 5
for extended cooling down. I only got a little winded, and was able to
talk the whole time, but I never set the treadmill above 2.7. I
really wanted to feel good when I finished, and I did! We're going
again tonight.

In the eating and sleeping department:
Sleep: 8 hrs
Food: granola bar, pretzels, lean cuisine pizza, diet pepsi, and a
handful of mini oreos.
Let myself get way too hungry but resisted eating a second LC pizza right away.

And now, back to work!

Past Bedtime

It's past my bedtime, but I'm not good at beginnings that begin in the
morning. So play to your strengths (or avoid your weaknesses). It's
night and I'm tired and sad and ready for everything to be different.

Awakening. It's a process.

Smiling

This is me. Well, this is me about two weeks ago. I'm happy to be smiling for the first time for as long as I can remember. I'm still a bit tentative, can you see? How does this work, this grin? Well pretty soon I'll have it figured out. Because this, my friends, is the beginning.

There will be tears. But fewer than there have been.

There will be joy. More than ever before.

There will be triumph. I demand it.

This, my friends, is the beginning.
